SERDANG, 26 March - The arrival of 10 Kyushu Institute of Technology (KYUTECH) students from Japan on the 19th of March remarks the initiation of the KPZ - KYUTECH Buddies Programme 3.0 starting from 19 March to 25 March 2025 in Kolej Pendeta Za’ba.
In collaboration with the Student Affairs Division, Putra International Centre (I-PUTRA), and the management of Kolej Pendeta Za'ba, various entertaining activities were organised with the programme's objective of fostering long-term academic diplomatic relations by providing a platform for exchanging views between the participants and the KPZ community.
The activities organised ranged from playing traditional games such as batu seremban and ketingting, making TangYuan, a tour around UPM, batik canting, a visit to Kuala Lumpur, a session on ketupat weaving, and breaking fast in Putrajaya as an introduction to the vast Malaysian culture, local food, and tourist attractions. Civilians met throughout this programme were also amazed and a review of this situation is recorded and showcased on the following website.
"Throughout this programme, I was surprised by the way they communicated with UPM students and I was impressed by all the activities that were carried out based on the video recordings. I could see the look on their faces that they were happy and enjoyed their time here. I would like to say thank you everyone”, said Yoshimura Sensei when she was asked about her view for this programme.
Dr. Mohd Hakiman Mansor stated in his speech, "As you return to your home nations, take with you the lessons that you have gained, the friendship you have made, and the memories you have treasured. Allow these encounters to serve as a foundation for developing international bridges and fostering understanding and empathy in an increasingly interconnected world”.
From this impactful programme, it is hoped that other students would grab other valuable chances if they were able to and it is hoped that this programme inspires all students to continue to contribute to our university's international connection.
