SUKSIS

The idea of setting up a Student Police Volunteer Corps (SUKSIS) was initially inspired by YAB Datuk Seri Abdullah Hj. Ahmad Badawi, the 5th Prime Minister of Malaysia who at that time was the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister when he spoke in conjunction with the launch of the 12th Convocation Expo at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Sintok, Kedah.

The desire to form a uniformed body "Ala Polis" in all Public Institutions of Higher Learning (IPTA) is driven by the desire to produce excellent graduates who also have legal knowledge, skills, competitive, disciplined, skilled and equipped with noble values and self-esteem the highest.

According to historical records, a team of USM Royal Malaysia Police Reserve Volunteers (SSPDRM) ala SUKSIS Corps is now available at Universiti Sains Malaysia in 1985.

Unfortunately, this program only lasted for 4 years due to logistics and financial management problems. After the recommendation of YAB Datuk Seri Abdullah Hj. Ahmad Badawi, the idea of establishing SUKSIS Corps in all public universities was revived in 2003.

As a result of the first discussions and negotiations between Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and PDRM, a joint decision was reached to create the first group of IPTA SUCCESS Corps in UUM of 75 students known as the Student Police Volunteer Corps or SUKSIS Corps.

To date, 20 public universities in Malaysia have established the SUCCESS Corps as one of the co-curricular courses.

Selepas saranan YAB Datuk Seri Abdullah Hj.

The process of establishing SUKSIS is to respond to the recommendations of YAB Dato 'Seri Abdullah...more...
