The Siswa Sulung program is an initiative designed to provide educational opportunities to students from low-income families, particularly those who are the first generation in their families to have the chance to pursue a bachelor's degree at public universities. This program aims to increase access to higher education and produce high-quality, competitive human capital.
The main objectives of the Siswa Sulung Program are:
SULUNG Character Building Camp Program
From November 6 to 8, 2024, the SULUNG Character Building Camp, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, was held in Janda Baik, Pahang. This program aims to shape students' character and explore their potential so that they become competitive individuals, like pearls shining in the ocean even in the dark.

SULUNG EXCELLENCE PROGRAM SERIES 1
Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Sheikh Omar Abdul Rahman, an alumni of UPM, inspired the students by sharing his life experiences. He emphasized the importance of developing students' potential holistically so they can achieve excellence in both their studies and life, in line with the proverb "without breaking the ruyung, how can you get the sago?" It is hoped that through this program, students can build a strong sense of identity and continue to strive towards their dreams and aspirations, just like rice that bows down as it ripens.
