In the world of work, trustworthiness (amanah) and responsibility (tanggungjawab) are fundamental principles that shape an employee’s professionalism and determine the success of an organization. Trustworthiness refers to honesty, integrity, and the confidence entrusted by employers, colleagues, or clients, while responsibility emphasizes the ability to carry out duties with full commitment and ensure every task is completed accurately and with high quality.

A responsible employee does not merely complete tasks but also understands the impact of every action on the organization and others. For example, a meticulous accountant ensures financial reports are accurate so management decisions are based on correct data, while a responsible technician ensures machinery operates safely to prevent accidents. This attitude reflects commitment to the job and awareness of how one’s work affects others.

Similarly, a trustworthy employee safeguards the confidence given to them. They do not misuse information, engage in deceit, or take advantage of system weaknesses. For instance, an officer with access to sensitive data ensures customer information is not leaked, thereby protecting the company’s reputation.
