KUALA LUMPUR, 13 September 2025 — The Arts & Culture Community of Kolej Pendeta Zaba (KPZ), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), captured public attention at the annual Keretapi Sarong 2025 event themed “Serumpun” with their vibrant and creative performances. KPZ’s participation was by special invitation from LOCCO as the official community representative at the UPM MRT Station.

Under the leadership of Program Director Aina Wafa Azuan, the KPZ team began their activities at the UPM MRT Station with an acoustic performance and a cultural medley. The performance was warmly received by the local community before the journey began. Also present to witness the performance was YB Dato’ Sri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture.

Although the game segment had to be cancelled due to time constraints, the KPZ team’s spirit remained high. Their activities continued throughout the journey to the secret location, Raintree Plaza, TRX, despite the crowded train. Amid the lively atmosphere, KPZ conducted interactive activities by inviting commuters to sing traditional folk songs and organizing a spontaneous sarong fashion showcase—turning the train into a vibrant and festive space.

A commuter shared their experience, expressing that KPZ’s performance was highly entertaining and enjoyable, successfully lifting the mood throughout the journey. According to the Program Director, the initiative aimed not only to entertain but also to cultivate teamwork, creativity, and cultural awareness among students. KPZ’s participation reinforces their role as UPM’s Cultural Ambassadors, actively preserving and promoting national heritage.

Through their dedication and creativity, KPZ left a significant positive impact—entertaining participants, strengthening ties with LOCCO, and showcasing the cultural spirit and student engagement of UPM throughout the Keretapi Sarong 2025 journey.
