PESKON 2025

SERDANG — Kolej Pendeta Za’ba (KPZ) continued to strengthen its reputation in arts and culture after securing Third Place in the Creative Ethnic Dance Competition held in conjunction with the Universiti Putra Malaysia Convocation Festival and Agriculture Expo (PESKON). The vibrant competition, held on the UPM campus, featured participation from 8 residential colleges, each showcasing unique interpretations of Malaysian ethnic identity and creativity.

KPZ’s representative team, Sri Dewangga Za’ba, delivered a dynamic, well-executed, and expressive performance, captivating both the audience and the panel of judges. In addition to securing third place overall, KPZ celebrated another proud achievement when one of their dancers was awarded the Best Female Dancer Award, adding further prestige to KPZ’s success this year.

This year’s event also saw the participation of the Zahirul Haq nasyid team, made up entirely of first-year students. Although they did not place among the top winners, the team received a consolation certificate in recognition of their effort, courage, and team spirit as first-time participants.

According to the recipient of the Best Female Dancer Award, KPZ’s success is the result of intensive training and continuous guidance from coaches, peers, and alumni. “We are very grateful for this achievement. It motivates us to remain active in the arts and cultural scene,” she said.

The Creative Ethnic Dance Competition this year showcased intense competition through various traditional and contemporary dance concepts. The strong presence of college members and enthusiastic support from alumni further boosted the morale of KPZ’s performers, inspiring them to give their best on the competition night.
