5 December 2025, Serdang — The Secretariat of Green Sustainability and Food Security, Student Representative Council 2025/2026, Kolej Pendeta Za’ba successfully organised the Student Agricultural Entrepreneurship Programme (SEEDA) in conjunction with the UPM Convocation Festival 2025 at Dataran Menara Putra, Warisan Budi UPM. The programme was carried out over eight days, from 28 November to 5 December 2025, as an initiative to promote food security and entrepreneurship among students.

The programme highlighted the sale of fresh pineapples and derivative products such as pineapple jam and pineapple juice, all produced by students of Kolej Pendeta Za’ba. Throughout the programme, students were directly involved in harvesting, processing, pricing strategies, packaging, and marketing techniques, making SEEDA a practical learning platform based on the “from farm to finished product” model.

Convocation Festival visitors also had the opportunity to view a mini exhibition on pineapple cultivation methods and pineapple jam production at the Residential College Farm Kiosk. The programme received strong support from college management and the Entrepreneurship Secretariat, and involved more than 1,000 students as the primary target group.

The programme also received an official visit from the UPM Vice-Chancellor, YBhg. Dato’ Prof. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, UPM Deputy Vice-Chancellor, YBhg. Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu, Principal of Kolej Pendeta Za’ba, YBrs. Dr. Mohd Hakiman Mansor, as well as senior UPM officers, who spent time visiting the exhibition and showing their support for the students’ efforts in making this initiative a success. The support and feedback from university management are hoped to pave the way for larger-scale college agricultural projects in the future.
