Pendeta Za’ba College (P2) under the cluster of Agriculture and Campus Life Sustainability has launched a program entitled Edible Garden at KPZ P2 on 19 March 2023 (Sunday). This Edible Garden was inaugurated by YBrs. Lt. Col. Associate (PA) Prof. Associate Dr. Mohamad Azani Alias, Principal, Pendeta Za’ba College, UPM at 5:30 pm. The simple gimmick of cutting some chili seeds on the chili tree was done by him together with the Chief Fellow, Mr. Mohd Shahfuan Azizan who was also present that evening. Edible Garden is a KPZ agricultural program that was created to focus mainly on edible plants. The objective of this program is to create the sustainability of the college with agricultural activities. Among the examples of trees that can be planted to meet the objective of this 'Edible Garden' are mustard, kangkong, eggplant, cucumber, tomato, and others. All plants that can be made into food are focused on our Edible Garden program.
YBrs. Dr. intending to have this Edible Garden plantation in every block in the college can help KPZ students obtain food supplies naturally and train students to eat natural and organically sourced food. He also added that with the existence of this Edible Garden, college students are trained to appreciate the environment and strive to instill a love toward farming in addition to improving the college's infrastructure into a more beautiful one.
