HISTORY

The process of establishing SUKSIS is to respond to the recommendations of YAB Dato 'Seri Abdullah bin Haji Abmad Badawi who was then the Deputy Prime Minister.

cum Home Minister who had proposed the establishment of the SUCCESS Corps in all public universities during his working visit to Bukit Aman on 4 February 1999.

In 2002, YAB Dato 'Seri Abdullah as the Prime Minister of Malaysia suggested to the former Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Haji Omar Bakri to develop a curriculum in universities that can bridge the gap between students and police in addition to the establishment of the Police Cadet Corps (secondary school) and existing Police Volunteers (PVR).

The establishment of the SUCCESS Corps is subject to the law of the police volunteer body or PVR contained in the Police Act 1967. This means that all members of the SUCCESS Corps are appointed as police volunteer members and they have the right to enjoy all the privileges and powers of a police officer while on duty formal or training.

The desire to form the position of a uniformed body "Ala Polis" in all Public Institutions of Higher Learning (IPTA) is driven by the desire to produce excellent graduates who also have legal knowledge, skills, competitive, disciplined, skilled and equipped with noble values as well as high self-esteem according to the mold of the Royal Malaysian Police.

The specially designed three-year training module emphasizes on instilling an understanding of the police career among trainees as well as equipping themselves in terms of mental, physical and self-discipline.
